Pearl Harbor Day, for those who may not realize it! Hopefully, we will never let our guard down again!
Anyway, we will most assuredly fish and celebrate the ultimate freedom that those brave servicemen made possible from that horrible war! I will be there around noon as usual and look forward to seeing all of you fine folks out there again!
From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

There is a possibility the outside boat ramp lane will be closed this weekend.

It is confirmed that as of Thursday the outside lane on the Gatewood Boat ramp will be closed until the water comes back up. We'll need to be patient until everyone gets used to it. This is a good time for a reminder that you can launch from other ramps around the lake and come up to Gatewood by water for the tournament as well. up

A little cool, lots of sunshine and a little breezy. Water temps ranged from 53 to 54 degrees where Wally and I fished today. The water was very clear around the ramp and got dirtier the further upstream you went. We had 50 anglers in 25 boats today. We brought 40 fish to the scales for a total of 61.11lbs. 7 of those were Largemouth Bass. Here's the money places:
5th place went to Daryl and Danny with three fish for 3.92lbs and $36
4th place went to Mike and Paul H. with three fish for 4.55lbs and $54
3rd place went to Monty with 3 fish for 4.71lbs and $72
2nd place went to Momma (Tracy) and Skillet with 3 fish for 9.28lbs, they had a 4.19lb LMB for an anchor. they won $90
1st place went to Rick and Danny with 3 fish for 11.10lbs (NICE!) and Big Bass with a 4.66lb LMB, They won 1st with $108, Big Bass with $120, and the side pot for $230!
Congrats to the money places, awesome job, guys!
We'll back out there next Sunday afternoon. We only have one ramp and I hope they don't get too low and close the other one too! I will keep you informed.
It was great seeing you folks today, looking forward to seeing you again next week.
