It's Wednesday already! Before you know Sunday will be here again! Ya'll come on out and join us. WE are having fun in spite of this early wintry weather this year! (Float-n-fly fishing may come a bit earlier at this pace!). We've been enjoying a good turn out so far and hope to see the participation stay up all winter long! From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

As of right now (Saturday morning) I am planning to go ahead with the tournament tomorrow. It looks like it will be a wet one for sure with a slight chance of thunder later in the afternoon. If I get to the ramp and it's a rip roaring thunderstorm and it looks like more on the way, I will cancel at that time.

Man O Man! It rained and rained, and rained some more. There was a pretty stiff wind to go with all that rain too. Air temps and Water temps were in the 50's. For the most part I guess the tournament produced a decent quantity of fish, although the size was down a bit this week. Out of 8 boats, mine was the only one that didn't produce a three fish limit. To be brutally honest I didn't do much running because of the rain and wind, this was one of those tournaments that I wasn't fully engaged in (wanting to hurry up and get it over! LOL). There were 21 fish weighed for 27.37LBs (average 1.30LBs per fish) We only paid two places due to the low turn out and here is how it went: 2nd place went to Joe and Steve with 3 fish for 4.23LBs, they won $48 1st place went to Mike E. with 3 fish for 4.52LBs and Big Bass with a 1.81LB spotted bass. Mike got 1st for $72, Big Bass for $40, and the side pot for $50 Next weekend I will be conducting the Weigh in on Saturday for the Kennesaw State University Bass Fishing Team (Come on out and join us at Gatewood, Bartow County). and then back out there for another Porko's Sunday afternoon. The Long Range forecast (always subject to change) is looking pretty nice for next weekend.

Thanks, Wayne. There were a couple of times I thought about coming in early and putting it on the trailer and waiting for everyone else to come in! I stuck it out though.

Almost didnt come to this one but my friend Chris is a die hard and talked me into it, and I'm glad we did! Even through the rain and wind it was a fun day of fishing. Helps a LOT when you have a partner, Bob you know I feel your pain on how hard it is sometimes when the weather isnt nice and you are solo, good job on sticking it out!
The bass are still acting funny, at least for me and what Im expecting for patterns. I was sure it was going to be a moving /reaction bite like Lipless, spinnerbaits and square bills but I threw all of those (as well as A-rig, worm and fluke) with no luck at ALL, not one bite! Finally we found that throwing jigs on larger rip rap type rock in 6-15 feet was producing, just figured it out too late and never got that kicker bite. We caught two of the fish we weighed in in the last 35 min. I'll be in Virginia for Thanksgiving weekend but we'll see you guys the week after. Thanks again for having the tournament Bob!

Last night I was cleaning out my files (had four years of tournament sheets). you were one of the names on most of those sheets over the last few years. Definitely a "regular" like several others out there (Joe C. Skillet and Tracey, Tom and Ken to name just a few!). I enjoy seeing you guys out there.

I appreciate that Bob, and I think you put on one of the funnest tournaments in which I have ever participated! Like I've said before, for me it's not about the money but the fun of competition and camaraderie between us all. Skillet, Tracy and I were talking before the last tournament about how cool it is that we all share info and help each other just catch fish! Another cool thing is how we get to know each other, yesterday I saw Monty (Ranger 340v that fishes your tourneys) on the water and said hi, he was quick to tell me there was a brush pile near by that he has caught fish on but was having trouble locating. I helped him find it and we floated next to each other fishing for a while, good times!
