The first one is done now. We are off and running in our 2014/2015 season. We had a great turn out last Sunday and I hope to see all of you folks back out there again this Sunday. Don't be afraid to get on here and talk it up! A little smack is ok as long as someone doesn't get a poke in the eye! From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

Not sure I'll make this Sunday; but, I plan to fish several this winter. Was a very good turnout.

It was indeed a beautiful fall afternoon! 50 other folks besides me thought so too! We had 27 paid entries and the final tally was a total of 49 fish for 58.84lbs (an average of 1.20LBs per fish, yeah, kinda small!). Hopefully when they slow the drawdown a bit a things will pick up. Another factor is the persistent high pressure and bluebird/cloudless skies. It's still fun to get out there and I really enjoy seeing everyone each week! Here's how the money spots came down: 6th place was Brandon (skillet) and Tracy with 3 fish for 3.86LBs for $20 5th place went to Caleb and Ben with 3 fish for 3.97LBs for $41, they also had the Big Bass pot with a 2.35LB LMB for $135. 4th place was Brian and Dakota with 3 fish for 4.24LBS for $69 3rd place was Tom and Ken with 3 fish for 4.46LBs for $81 2nd place went to Brett and Mario with 3 fish for 4.75LBs and $93 1st place went to Mike and Gene with 3 fish for 5.10LBS and $101
next Saturday (11/15/2014) I will conducting the weigh-in for a fundraising event for the family of Betty Joyce Pope Ray who passed away this past September. The family could use some help to offset the costs associated with her passing. Jason Wiley will putting the tournament on at Gatewood so please come on out and have some fun while helping a local family recover from their tragedy.
