What an absolutely awesome night of fishing! The weather settled down and the pleasure boaters finally went in (the days are shorter so they went in a couple of hours earlier!). The water temps ranged from 86 at tournament start to 83-84 degrees at 2AM this morning. The fish were cooperating, from the reports I got that was the case from Knox bridge to I-75 (and maybe beyond), which pretty much covers the lake from the Etowah to Allatoona Creek.
There were 23 paid entries (24 boats including mine) and a total of 44 anglers out there, there were 21 (5-fish)limits brought to the scales (only three boats did not weigh fish. That's 105 bass for a total of 161.83lbs (avg 1.54lbs). We saw 9 Largemouth bass with the biggest weighing in at 6.23lbs (Congrats Gary F!).
Now for the money spots:
5th place was Jeff and Tim with 5 fish for 9.64lbs and $92
4th place went to Stan and myself with 5 fish for 10.14lbs and $138
3rd place went to Gary F. with 5 fish for 11.00lbs and Big Bass of 6.23lbs, He got $184 for 3rd and $230 for Big Bass
2nd place went to Brian and Doyle with 5 fish for 11.02 for $230
1st place went to Rick and Danny with 5 fish for 11.35lbs for $276.
