What a 4 day stretch. I fished on Guntersville Thursday and Friday pre-fishing and 2 day Divisional Championship with ABA WBS Alabama North Division Saturday and Sunday. Guntersville was fishing tough for most people but of course it is Guntersville and someone is still going to catch them.
32 Hours of fishing
10 hours of driving
50+ bass caught 12 or so were keeper size (15+”)
I was sitting in 2nd place in the Co-angler field out of 60 total with 9.09lbs 3 fish limit. The leading Co-angler has 11lbs and 3rd place Co-Angler had 8.9lbs. My boater had 4 fish for 10lbs on Day 1. Both of us missed a few on a buzzbait and Frog along scattered shoreline grass that would of given us a little more weight.
We caught plenty of fish but just the wrong size. I caught nearly 40 fish and my boater caught about a dozen but most were short fish. I caught 6 keepers and my 3 biggest weighed 6.27lbs. My boater zeroed.
15.36lbs 2 day total with 3 fish limit each day.
I finished 5th place with a $350 Check
Top 3 got a trophy. Oh well. I had a blast. Fished very clean both days.
Finished 8th in points in my first season as a Co-anger with American Bass Anglers, Weekend Bass Series Alabama North Division. 3 of my 6 boaters this season zeroed and I still caught fish behind them. I weighed 16 fish with a maximum possible being 18. Overall a very successful season. Next up is ABA AFT D125 season opener on Allatoona at Gatewood Ramp Sept 13th then I officially qualified to fish Chickamauga for ABA WBS Southern Regional Sept 26-27th. First place for both the boater and Co-angler is a brand new Triton bass boat!!
Never been to Chickamauga before so I am all ears if anyone has any pointers for there.
Thanks for your time,
