Is there a special license needed to freshwater guide on Georgia lakes?
Can't seem to find anything on the web.

Looking at retirement soon and thinking Guiding a few days a month
would be a nice hobby.

Thoughts??

The Captain's 6-pack license is not required on Freshwater lakes that do not have locks, Google GON guide License, there is a good article on the subject. I read it and it states that if you are guiding trips of up to 6 people you have to have gone to the Coast guard school for guides to obtain the 6 pack(6 people limit)but not on fresh water impoundments with out a Lock. I would go to the GON article and even google the Coast guard website for more info. Capt Robert eidson speaks in that article and is very helpful, you might even contact 'First Bite Guide Service' and ask Robert Eidson, he is very helpful. Mo
