Everything is on track for another Porko event this coming Saturday. Things are going really well with the wife's recovery from back surgery, so I will be back out there with you guys (really looking forward to it!). Hopefully, we will continue to have a great turn out for the last three events, or even more! So come on out and be a part of it!
We hold all of our events out of the Gatewood Boat ramp in Bartow County, here are the directions:
From I-75 North or South, Take Exit 290 (Cartersville/GA20 Exit) Travel East on GA 20 approximately 500 feet and take a right on GA Spur 20 (Between Kangaroo Grocery and Wendy's), travel approximately 3 miles and take a left on Bartow County Beach Road (the Corps signs no longer exist, so look for the small Gatewood Ramp sign)or turn left on Jim Knight Rd. and go till it dead-ends to Bartow County Beach Rd and turn left. Travel to the end of Bartow County Beach Road and the ramp will be on your left

cheers

Last night was probably the best night we have had all summer for great fishing conditions. The temps were good, the wind was light, the water temps were in the mid 80s (not bad for summer!). The boat traffic was pretty busy up until about 10 to 10:30PM then the lake cleared off and became a great place to be! Stan and I had a ball, we caught fish pretty much all night long and finally managed to cull out a decent limit (there were 17 limits weighed and one sack of 4 fish!).

We had 23 paid entries (24 boats including mine), a total of 45 anglers going at it, nearly 71% of the field weighed a limit! Those are good numbers no matter what lake you fish! When you look at the stats and see averages per tournament of 1.5lbs per fish or better it's hard to hear someone call 'Toona the "Dead Sea".

Anyway, we had 89 fish brought to the scale for a total of 136.6lbs, 6 largemouth bass were in the total. Big Bass was a spotted bass this time, but still a bruiser!

Here are the money spots:

Stan and I had 5 fish for 8.49 and that was good for 5th place and $92

Jarrod and Mike had 5 fish for 8.76lbs for 4th place and $138

Derek and NIck had 5 fish for 8.87lbs for 3rd place and $184

Lonnie and Chad had 5 fish for 9.56lbs for 2nd place and $230

The winners were Bill P and Chad with 5 fish for 14.34lbs for $276 and the side pot of $220. They also had a big spot for 4.47lbs that got them another $230 (a total of $726! not bad for a Saturday night's fun night on the water!). Great looking boat you bought, Bill!

We have two more Midnight Madness events for this season, September 6, and 20. Then we will cool off for the month of October and come back in November to start up the Sunday Afternoon events. Try and join us when you can!
