Our meeting will be on Wednesday Aug 6, 2014, at the Center Street Tavern and Grill in Old Town Acworth (directions in our website www.castawaybassclubnwga.com ), roughly 7PM. You are welcome to fish as a guest (in your own boat or with one of our members if someone invites you) if you have not fished one of our events this year. We sign folks up and collect the entry fee during the Wednesday meeting and will not sign anyone up after that, or at the ramp (has worked very well for us!). Our launch location will be the Jackson County Marina and Park in Scottsboro, AL. You will have to come to the meeting for the start and stop times and boat number draw! Looking forward to seeing you guys!

18 members and one guest fished the Big G out of Jackson County Park, Scottsboro, AL yesterday. We highly recommend the Jackson County Park as a great tournament location. Ramp, parking, docking and facilities are great! There were only 13 fish brought to the scales. Fishing was tough to say the least! The top two finishes came from way upriver, coming off the deeper ledges in the river itself. The rest came off much shallower, grassy stuff. Water temps were in the mid 80s, air temps were good until about 1 pm Georgia time. The wind laid down and it got muggy! Then came the rain in the last hour of the tournament, widespread and heavy! We got it done though and here are the money spots 4th place went to Mike C. with 1 fish for 3.81lbs and $38 3rd place went to Coach B with 2 fish for 6.21lbs and $76 2nd place went to Jake A. with 5 fish (the only limit) for 9.84lbs and $114 1st place went to Justin M. with 3 fish for 11.46lbs and $152 Justin M. also had big bass with a 5.05lb fish for $95 Our September event will be on Lake Lanier out of Duckett's Mill Boat ramp so stay tuned for more info.

I really like Jackson Co. Park as well, good looking camp ground located there as well as good looking places to eat(Like Jefferson's on the same road) Adequate area to weigh the fish and immediate release very close back into the lake. Good courtesy dock. Also 2 or 3 good Hotels on the way in. If Chatuge is not voted in for our 2 day next year then Jackson County Park/Guuntersville will be my vote for the 2 day...maybe not in August though
