Overcast and very dark last night, with a south-southeast wind that felt like about 15-20 mph (more than likely 10-15). Water temps were hovering around 83 degrees most of the places that Stan and I hit. No rain, though, and that was a blessing! We had a great turn out with 29 paid entries (30 boats including mine), 57 anglers weighed 92 fish for a total of 139.68lbs (average of 1.52lbs per fish). We had 11 entries that did not weigh fish, I don't know if some of them left early, didn't catch anything or just simply felt that their catch would not compete? If it's feeling your catch would not compete, I sure would like to weigh your catch anyway so we can get some good data to see how this lake is really producing. The DNR is monitoring our data and hoping to use it along with other data to manage the fishery. You can also go to

Wow! .10lb separated the top three places, 1.6oz!
The next event will be on August 2, 2014. I may not be fishing that one, but there will be someone running it regardless. More than likely that person will be Tom Grant. You see Tom helping me at the scales almost every night. He's my buddy and my right hand when I need him!
