I ended up pre-fishing Thursday and Friday and then had the tournament that Saturday.
Here are my Thursday, Friday, and Saturday totals:
24 hours of fishing
8 hours of driving
5+/- smallmouth bass
Biggest was largemouth: 3.5+ pounder that spit the hook at the boat Friday.
Biggest smallmouth: 2.5+ pounder also Friday.
Saturday I ended up weighing a 3 fish limit for 5.64lbs. 2 largemouth and 1 smallmouth. After looking it up it I missed being in the money by less than a pound
Officially finishing 22nd out of 75 Co-anglers.
But I have no regrets and never lost any fish that would have helped me. Instead of getting angry missing a check by less than a pound in multiple tournaments this season I am using it as motivation to continue getting better.
Congrats to my buddy Matt West with a 12th place finish on the boater side with 13.18lbs with 4 fish.
Also, congrats to my boater Gary Howington that finished 3rd place with 14.98lbs 5 fish limit!!
What an amazing last couple of days. My boater ended up being a retired BASS ELITE SERIES Professional Angler that fished the Elites for 23 years!! Man it was fun and did a lot of learning and got to hear some awesome fishing stories.
I ended up catching all my fish off a dropshot roboworm , shaky-head grandebass worm, or Carolina Rigged Senko.
