Back a couple of springs ago I was was fishing at Lake Hawkins, during the mating period for cardinals. I had this male cardinal that kept flying around my pickup, and periodically dive-bombing it. I started to wonder what this crazed bird was carrying on about. When I got fairly close to my truck I could see that this bird was really upset with my side-mirrors. He kept seeing his reflection in them and thought that another male cardinal was horning in on his matting turf. It was a hoot to watch his escapades.

I get the same thing at my office annually. Alot of them end up dead outside my window though.

You might want to shoot him to put him out of his misery.

My Momma’s ghost would come back an haunt me. She loved cardinals —redbirds, she called them— above and beyond all other birds.

Harry, no you didn't say that . Go Cards...Big Albert Rocks . I love the Cardinals...Hense-Mo. Don't know if the Cardinals can catch the Brewers now, if they can't win the Central they are toast because the Braves are going to lock down the Wild Card it looks like. The Braves are a different Team and a better team since adding their 2 new speedsters. I still and always will Love my Cardinals...so...NO SHOOTING CARDINALS HARRY.

Cardinals are that way with mirrors. Never seen another bird do that except cardinals.
