That's what it looks like...lol ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v387/xpaintballgeekx/photobucket-38208-1352581102987.jpg) I had to do a little repair this weekend and ended up pulling the actual motor out of the lower unit. I've always wondered what it looked like, and now I know.

If I understand how it works, it really is pretty clever. The inside of the housing is covered with magnets (the two half circles). Trolling motor magnets may be common knowledge for most, but I had no idea. I do know it was pretty tough to pull the motor out of the lower unit simply because of the magnets. I was worried I was breaking something until I finally go PO'ed and just ripped it out, after looking at it, a light bulb went off in my head... MAGNETS...ohhhhhh...lol ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v387/xpaintballgeekx/photobucket-22449-1352581131819.jpg)

I put it all back together and now it runs like a champ. Much better than before.
The electrical connectors from the pedal to the head of the motor had a lot of corrosion on them. I filed them back to bare copper, put some dialectic grease on them, and they are good as new. I also had to install a new set of steering cables on the motor since one broke and caused my issues in the first place.

I’d be worried about replacing the seals myself.
